To install Google Tag Manager on your Shopify website, you will need to create a Google Tag Manager account and generate a container code. Once you have the container code, you can follow the steps in the video to install on your website.

Google Ads Conversion Tracking With Google Tag Manager: Step by Step

To set up Google Ads conversion tracking with Google Tag Manager you need to have 3 platforms.

1.) A Google Ads account linked to a website that you are using for advertising

2.) A Google Tag Manager account that has a container code deployed on the site you are using for advertising

3.) A specific conversion action that you want to track on the website

With Google Tag Manager you can create a conversion with a unique Conversion ID and Conversion label. You will use those two pieces of information to create your Google Ads conversion tag in Google Tag Manager.

You’ll also need a trigger to pair with your new Google Ads conversion tag. This trigger is what will “fire” the conversion. You may (you should) choose to use GTM’s preview and debug mode to test your new tag and trigger.

Once you’ve tested and published the new tag and trigger, this new conversion data will begin populating in your Google Ads account.

Please note, this method of setting up conversions may take longer than simply importing your Google Analytics goals to Google Ads (here’s a video of how to do that: &t=3s), but it does provide additional flexibility, including:

– Setting your click through conversion window
– Setting your engaged view conversion window (for any engaged views of YouTube ads)
– Setting your view-through conversion window (for any views of ads)

You can also change your attribution model for each of your individual conversions.
